CLAREMONT, Calif. -
Pierce McShane won the 500 free in an NCAA "B" cut time of 4:30.74 for the Claremont-Mudd-Scripps men's swimming and diving team on the first day of a two-day dual with Pomona-Pitzer on Friday afternoon at Haldeman Pool.
McShane moves into fifth place all-time at CMS with his 4:30.74, which won the race by 1.35 seconds over Quinn Delaney of Pomona-Pitzer.
William Jones also came in fourth with a 4:37.49.
Beckett Heywood was second in the one-meter dive with a 277.58, which is above the regional qualification cutoff of 275.0, while
Ethan Sattley was third with a 271.35.
Kenny Eckel was second in the 200 IM with a 1:50.71, and
Sean Su was third in the 50 free with a 20.70.
Adam Lee,
Kenny Eckel,
Jayden Kadiman and
Jasper Shue opened the meet with a 3:22.27 in the 400-yard medley relay, while Shue, Ekcel,
Jack Beckman and Su were second in the 200 free relay in 1:24.02.
The second day of the dual will get underway tomorrow morning at 10 a.m., with an afternoon session taking place at 3 p.m.
