BIRMINGHAM, Ala. -
Josephine Jett ran an 8.68 in the 60-meter hurdles to finish in ninth out of 20 competitors at the NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships on Friday.
The ninth-place finish earns Jett second-team All-America honors for the second straight year during indoor season, after running an 8.72 last year to finish ninth. She was a first-team All-America last year in the 100-meter hurdles during outdoor season, when she came in sixth.
Her 8.68 was just .04 away from qualifying for the finals tomorrow, as Nyla Jones of Rowan earned the final spot with an 8.64. Allyson Hammond of Pacific had the best time with an 8.47.
CMS will be back in action tomorrow at the Occidental Distance Carnival and Spring Break Classic, before competing next Friday at the Redlands Invitational.
