EAGLE ROCK, Calif. -
Oliver Pick came in seventh in the 5000 meters and
Pierce Clark earned 11th in the 1500 meters to highlight the performance of the CMS men's track and field team at the Occidental Distance Carnival and Spring Break Classic on Saturday.
Pick ran a 14:35.14 to earn seventh in the 5000 out of 208 runners, and placing him tops among competitors from the SCIAC.
Hale Behan also came in 17th with a 14:44.58, while
Jerry Xu (29th),
Jonas Rickert (31st) and
Agustin Gomez de la Vega (33th) cracked the top 40.
Clark, meanwhile, was 11th out of 113 runners in the 1500 with a time of 4:01.47, edging out Finn McClure of La Verne by .17 for the top finisher among SCIAC runners.
Daniel Voyles was 22nd with a 4:05.82, and
Will Halpin came in 37th.
The Stags will be back in action for outdoor competition at UC Riverside in two weeks. Clark will also hope to receive a bid to the NCAA Division III Indoor Championships next weekend, as he currently has the 16th best time in the 800 meters, putting him under the cutoff (top 20) when selections are announced.
