CLAREMONT, Calif. - The Claremont-Mudd-Scripps men's track and field team won 12 events as it rolled to a dominant win at the first SCIAC Quad Cup at the Burns Track Complex on Saturday.
CMS finished with 275 points, followed by Pomona-Pitzer in second with 130 points, Occidental in third with 108 and Cal Lutheran in fourth with 46.
Jonathan Holcombe swept the long jump and triple jump for the Stags, as the one two-time individual winner, with a 21'2.5" effort in the long jump and a 41'6.5" mark in the triple jump.
On the track,
Colin Scanlon was the winner in the 400 meters with a time of 47.97, which moves him into fifth all-time at CMS, with
Jaden Rattay coming in second.
Max Even took first in the 200 meters with a time of 21.70, which places him in a tie for 10th all-time at CMS, while
Aiden Owens was second.
Jonas Rickert crossed the line in the 1500 meters in 3:57.41 to emerge victorious.
Joshua Martinez won the 110-meter hurdles in 14.95 seconds, and
Oliver Pick won the steeplechase in 9:33.17, with
Agustin Gomez de la Vega second in 9:33.65. Even, Owens, Rattay and Scanlon took first in the 4x400 relay in 3:16.91, while Owens, Even, Rattay and
Emmett Stralka were second in the 4x100 in 41.98.
In addition to Holcombe's jumping wins,
Flynn Meier took first in the pole vault at 13'6.25", while
Jonas Knudson was second at 12'6.25".
In the throws,
Kaden Cassidy was first in the hammer at 181'10" to move into a tie with Bowman for ninth in CMS history, while Prasanna was right behind at 181'1' and Bowman was third. Prasanna took first in the discus at 132'8", with Bowman second and
Vinny Kakani third.
George Kruger finished first in the javelin at 187'11", adding an inch to his PR, which ranks eighth at CMS, while
Cian Bryant was second.
Grady Johnson added a second-place finish in the shot put at 44'10.75", with Prasanna third.
CMS will be back in action next week at the Occidental Distance Carnival and Spring Break Classic.
