CLAREMONT, Calif. - CMS had the top three collegiate finishers in the hammer throw to highlight the performance of the men's track and field team at the Rossi Relays on Saturday at the Burns Track Complex.
Kaden Cassidy threw 176'7" to lead the way, behind only 28-year-old track club member Luigi Gonzalez.
Jason Bowman was second at 173'8" and
Kavin Prasanna third at 164'10", with Division II throwers from Cal Poly Pomona and Azusa Pacific filling the next four sports.
George Kruger came in third in the javelin with a throw of 184'4", trailing only two Division II throwers from Cal Poly Pomona and Cal State Los Angeles.
Cian Bryant came in fifth and
Zach Kwong seventh (out of 28).
Leo Sundstrom came in third in the pole vault with a clearance of 15'3", putting him behind only two vaulters from Division II Cal Poly Pomona.
Jonathan Holcombe was fifth out of 28 in the long jump at 21'5.25" for the Stags.
The 4x800 relay team of
Pierce Clark, Lou Delano,
Matthew Jabro and
Ellis DelVecchio won their race in 7:41.54, just a half-second off the program record set in 2007. The sprint medley relay team of
Evan Siegel,
Joshua Martinez,
Emmett Stralka and
Colin Scanlon was second in 1:31.15, and the the 4x100 relay team of
Aiden Owens, Stralka, Martinez and
Jaden Rattay was fifth in 42.66.
Owens came in 12th out of 62 in the 100 meters individually with an 11.02, while Martinez was fifth and Siegel sixth in the 110-meter hurdles
