Damajahá (DJ) Netherly

Damajahá (DJ) Netherly enters his first year as the director of recreation and engagement for Claremont-Mudd-Scripps Athletics in 2025-26.  

Netherly joins the CMS athletic department after most recently serving as the intramural and camp coordinator at CSU Fullerton. While with the Titans, his role included the supervision of facilities, implementation of policies and procedures, and day-to-day operations of leagues, tournaments, and youth activities.

As part of his role, Netherly led a large team of student staff, managed department budgets, coordinated equipment and risk management protocols, and implemented American Red Cross safety trainings.  

Prior to joining Fullerton, Netherly held the position of competitive sports manager at Cal Poly Pomona from 2022-24, where he led and managed the day-to-day operations of intramural and club sports. He also held a similar position at UC Riverside from 2019-2021, where he designed, planned and organized recreational activity classes and workshops, in addition to the coordination of the Sports Club program. 

Netherly has served as a chair of the National Intramural and Recreational Sports Association (NIRSA) club basketball committee, and also been a part of the NIRSA Social Justice Commitee and its Esports Task Force. He has also been a clinician with the Southern California Intramural Offical Association and has refereed high school basketball and football games.  

Netherly graduated from Cal Poly Pomona in 2016 with a degree in business administration, with an emphasis in computer information systems, while minoring in entrepreneurship and small business management. He earned is MBA from CSU Northridge in 2018 with a concentration in information systems.
