CLAREMONT, Calif. - The Claremont-Mudd-Scripps women's swimming and diving team closed out the 2026 regular season with a strong showing at the Pomona-Pitzer Invitational in its final regular season meet before the SCIAC Championships in 11 days.
Madeleine Kan had two wins, taking the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 1:51.18, the second-best time ever at CMS, and also earning the top spot in the 100-yard freestyle at 51.27, which moves her into third all-time in CMS history.
Mackenzie Mayfield also earned a pair of individual medley victories, taking first in the 400-yard individual medley with a time of 4:27.50 and adding another in the 100-yard individual medley, finishing in 57.44.

Sun Young Byun and Kan opened the meet with a win by just .16 in the 200 medley relay in 1:43.29, which places them sixth in CMS history. Sharma later added a win in the 200 back in 2:07.66.
Avalon Sanders earned the win in the 500 free in 5:03.57 for the Athenas, while
Katy Shaw finished in 17:27.30 in the 1650 to give CMS another distance win, with Sanders second. Newlands was the winner in the 100-yard breaststroke in 1:05.23, with
Milan Manfredi second and
Olivia Hoyla third, and
Molly Beetner made it a sweep with a win in the 200 breast in 2:26.73.
Simone Sabeeh captured the one-meter dive with a score of 305.25, with
Meilan Uyeno second in 292.95.
CMS will be back in action at the SCIAC Championships, which will be hosted from Feb. 18-21 at East Los Angeles College.
