THOUSAND OAKS, Calif. - Riley Cardenas scored the game's only goal in the 24th minute as the Cal Lutheran women's soccer team defeated Claremont-Mudd-Scripps 1-0 on Saturday evening at Rolland Stadium.
The loss was the first of the season for the Athenas, who slip to 6-1-1 overall and 1-1 in the SCIAC. Cal Lutheran improves to 4-1-1 overall and 1-1 in the SCIAC after falling to Pomona-Pitzer 2-1 on Wednesday.Â
Shots were few and far between in the contest, with CMS finishing with a 6-5 advantage.
Frankie Fragola had two shots saved, and
Flora Glantz had one. The Athenas also held a 4-1 edge in corner kicks.
CMS will be back in action when it takes on Pomona-Pitzer at home on Wednesday at 7 p.m.
