PALM DESERT, Calif. - The Claremont-Mudd-Scripps women's golf team hosted the 2025 NCAA Preview at Desert Willow Golf Club in Palm Desert, the site of the 2026 NCAA Division III Women's Golf Championships which it will host in May, and earned a 10th place finish at the 36-hole tournament on Saturday and Sunday.
The Athenas finished at +32, ahead of regional rivals Redlands (+41) and UC Santa Cruz, and two shots behind Trinity (Texas). Carnegie Mellon was the runaway winner of the team championship at -16, while Emory was also under par at -3 and NYU finished third at even par.
Christine Yu, who competed as an independent, was the top finisher for CMS at +6, shooting a 75 on both of her two rounds.
Esther Lee was at +8, including a 74 on Sunday, while first-year
Precilla Tea and
Emily Zhou tied for the lowest round with 73s on Saturday.
First-year
Alisa Ching also had a strong debut for the Athenas, finishing in the top half of the field with a +9, placing 41st.
Jessie Kong was at +10, including a 75 on Saturday.
CMS will be back in action when it competes in a tri-match with La Verne and Chapman on Saturday, Sept. 27.
